Question 1

How much does a Full Build website cost?

Accepted Answer

The Full Build from Open Tree Creative starts at $5,000 for a 6-page website. That includes strategy, brand styling, copywriting, design, SEO foundations, and accessibility best practices. The final price depends on your page count, features, and content needs. We talk through the scope on your discovery call, and you see the full scope and price in your proposal before any work begins.

Question 2

Can I get a simpler website without branding or copywriting?

Accepted Answer

Yes. If your brand is established and your copy is written, I offer Foundation websites starting at $2,000. A Foundation site is a simpler Squarespace build of up to 5 pages, made with Squarespace's own design tools around your existing content and branding. Brand styling and copywriting aren't included. Bring your logo, fonts, color palette, and finished copy, and we'll start with a discovery call to talk through the build. Foundation sites still get the same on-page and technical SEO foundations as every project I build.

Question 3

What type of businesses do you work with?

Accepted Answer

I work with service-based businesses and organizations in New Hampshire and across the US. That includes home builders and remodelers, design and architecture firms, professional services, health and wellness practices, musicians and artists, independent schools, churches and ministries, and nonprofits.

Question 4

Who will I be working with?

Accepted Answer

At Open Tree Creative, you work directly with me from start to finish. I'm your strategist, designer, copywriter, and developer, so you always know who you're talking to, from your first call to launch.

Question 5

Do I have to write the content for my website?

Accepted Answer

Not with The Full Build. I write your website copy from what I learn in our strategy session, and you review it on the site before launch. If you choose a Foundation site or want to write your own, I send you a content workbook once we confirm your sitemap, so you know what each page needs.

Question 6

Do you use AI?

Accepted Answer

Yes. At Open Tree Creative, I use AI as a tool throughout my work. It helps me organize project information and milestones, troubleshoot issues, write and debug code, and work through large amounts of information faster. I also use it to help draft website copy. You review and approve all copy before launch. AI doesn't replace my professional expertise. I take full responsibility for the judgment calls, the design, deciding what belongs on your site, making sure everything works, and testing the code.

Question 7

Is SEO included, or is that an extra cost?

Accepted Answer

It's included. Every site I build gets on-page and technical SEO foundations: page titles and descriptions, clear headings, clean page addresses, image descriptions, and connecting your site to Google. With The Full Build, I also write your copy around the searches your clients make. How well a page ranks over time still depends on what it says, but your site starts with the setup search engines look for.

Question 8

Are your websites accessible?

Accepted Answer

I design every site with accessibility best practices, using WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines as my reference. That includes readable color contrast, clear heading structure, alt text on images, descriptive links, and layouts that work with a keyboard. Squarespace controls some of the underlying code, so I can't guarantee full compliance, but accessibility is part of every build from the start.

Question 9

How long does a typical project take?

Accepted Answer

Most projects go from strategy session to launch-ready in 4 to 6 weeks, depending on scope and how quickly feedback comes back. Larger projects, like nonprofit sites with several audiences, can take longer. Your proposal sets the timeline before we start.

Question 10

What platform do you build on?

Accepted Answer

Open Tree Creative builds only on Squarespace. It gives me the design flexibility for a custom site, and it's easy for you to manage. Once your site is live, you won't need a developer to change a photo or update a paragraph.

Question 11

Do I own the website when it's finished?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The domain, the Squarespace account, and all of your content are in your name. There's no long-term contract with me to keep your site live.

Question 12

What happens after the site launches?

Accepted Answer

Every project includes 30 days of post-launch support for tweaks and questions. After that, if you'd rather have updates handled for you, my monthly website support plans start at $149/mo.
