Built to match where the business had gone.
Moose Mountain Construction had outgrown their original website. Seven years had passed, the platform was breaking down, and the site no longer reflected who they were. Here's what changed.
Before & After
2017 — WordPress
2026 — Squarespace
Seven years is a long time.
The platform was breaking down
WordPress requires ongoing maintenance — plugins, security patches, core updates. Without regular attention, the site had quietly started to deteriorate.
The business had evolved
In seven years, Moose Mountain had grown their team, sharpened their focus, and developed an emerging concept — Resilient Homes. None of it was on the site.
The design no longer fit
Jesse and Nicole had developed a clearer brand vision — elevated, sophisticated, no fuss. The original blue and orange palette didn't match where they were.
Outdated SEO
The original site was built before SEO best practices were a priority. Keywords, meta tags, heading structure, and image alt text all needed to be revisited.
Mobile needed a refresh
The original site looked good on mobile when it launched. But standards move fast — it was time for a modern rebuild that reflects how people browse today.
Lead capture was clunky
Google Forms living off-site was disconnected from the brand, hard to manage, and didn't build the necessary trust with high-end prospective clients.
A full rebuild on a better foundation.
Platform
Moving off WordPress eliminated the maintenance burden entirely. Squarespace gave Moose Mountain a fast, reliable, mobile-responsive platform they can manage themselves — no developer needed for day-to-day updates.
Brand refresh
The palette moved away from blue and orange toward something that matched their vision — warm, grounded, sophisticated. Earthy neutrals, deep tones, clean typography. The logo stayed. The overall feel shifted significantly.
Site architecture
Each service got its own dedicated page — Custom Homes, Renovations, Hybrid Contracting, and Guided Design Support. This helps the right client find the right service, and gives each offering its own SEO footprint in search.
Resilient Homes
An emerging concept, not yet a fully launched product. The site introduces it thoughtfully — visible enough to build awareness, measured enough to not get ahead of where the brand actually is. The groundwork is laid for when they're ready.
SEO foundation
Keyword research for the New Brunswick custom home market, proper heading hierarchy, title tags, meta descriptions, and image alt text throughout. Built to be found from day one.
Lead capture
A dedicated "Start Your Project" page with a structured intake form replaced the off-site Google Forms. Cleaner, more professional, and all in one place.
Mobile-first
Every layout decision was made with mobile in mind — fast load times, readable typography, and easy navigation on a phone.
Everything included.
"Rachel at Open Tree Creative was incredible to work with. She's thoughtful, insightful, and genuinely creative — but what I appreciated most was how patient she was and how well she guided the entire process. She really took the time to understand what we were trying to do and helped bring it to life in a way that feels true to us."
