[ The Reality ]

Most websites fail for one of three reasons.

When a website isn't generating leads or inspiring trust, it's rarely just a visual issue. It's usually a breakdown in content, strategy, or ongoing execution.

01

The DIY Content Burden

Writing your own web copy while running your organization is a lot to carry.

Content gets pushed to the bottom of the list for months at a time. When it finally gets written, it often describes what you do without giving visitors a reason to act.

02

Pretty, But Invisible

The site looks fine, but no one is finding it on search.

A polished design without technical SEO, targeted keywords, or a structured conversion strategy can still fail to attract qualified traffic or turn visitors into paying clients.

03

The Abandoned Launch

You're handed the keys and left to manage tech hurdles alone.

Launch is only the beginning. When you need to update a page, fix a form, or troubleshoot DNS settings, not knowing who to call can bring things to a standstill.

There is a better way to build for the web. No blank page, no guesswork, no vanishing after launch.

One package, five parts working together.

Each piece below is real, distinct work, but none of it happens in isolation. The strategy session shapes the copy, the copy shapes the SEO, and the SEO shapes how every page is structured.

[ About the Studio ]

Hi, I'm Rachel, owner of Open Tree Creative.

I've spent over 20 years building websites. I started Open Tree Creative in 2010 to help local businesses and nonprofits get found online and build websites they're proud to send people to.

When you work with me, you talk to me from the first call to launch. I handle your strategy, write your copy, design every page, and set up your technical SEO myself.

  • Direct 1:1 collaboration from kickoff to launch
  • Strategy, copywriting, design, and SEO included in every custom build
  • Building custom websites since 2010

[ The Process ]

How we get there.

A straightforward path from first conversation to finished site. You'll always know where we are, what's next, and what's needed from you.

01
Step 01

Discovery

A free 30-minute conversation to understand your business, your goals, and what's not working with your current web presence. I come back with a clear picture of what you need: a recommended page structure, a project scope, and an estimate.

02
Step 02

Strategy

This is where I get into the weeds. During the 90-minute strategy session, I ask detailed questions about your clients, your process, how you talk about your work, and what makes you different. This session sets the direction for your sitemap, branding, content, and design, so every piece that follows is anchored to the same strategy.

03
Step 03

Branding

Using the direction we set in strategy, I build out your brand board. You review it and sign off before we move into content.

04
Step 04

Content

I write your site's copy, drawing from what we covered in strategy and shaping it for SEO. You review and approve it before design begins.

05
Step 05

Design

With your brand and content in place, I build your site in Squarespace, page by page.

06
Step 06

Launch

Before your site goes live, I run through technical checks: page speed, mobile responsiveness, redirects, and SEO and analytics connections. Once everything passes, your site launches.

07
Step 07

Support

30 days post-launch support included. If you'd rather not manage the site yourself, a monthly support plan keeps it current — content updates, photo swaps, and SEO monitoring.

[ FAQ ]

Questions, answered.

The things most people ask before reaching out. If yours isn't here, ask me directly.

There's no fixed number. Page count is one part of the overall scope, not the price tag itself. A small service business might need five pages; a nonprofit serving multiple audiences might need ten. We figure out the right structure together during the strategy session, and the estimate reflects the actual scope, not a generic page-count formula.

A few things tend to push a project above the starting rate: more pages than a typical small-business site, added features like booking and scheduling tools or e-commerce, and heavier content needs — large amounts of copywriting, converting existing documents like newsletters into web pages, or extensive photo curation. You'll always see the full scope and price before any work begins, so there's no guessing.

If your brand is already locked in and your copy is written and SEO-ready, yes, I can just design the site. Bring your fonts, color palette, logo, and finished copy, and we'll start with a discovery call to talk through the build itself. Every build still includes basic technical SEO, regardless of who writes the copy: page titles, meta descriptions, heading structure, clean URLs, site speed, mobile friendliness. Price and timeline depend on the site. We'll cover that on the call.

I work with service-based businesses and organizations that are ready for a professional online presence that matches the quality of their real-world work. This includes home builders and remodelers, design and architecture firms, professional services, health and wellness practices, musicians and artists, independent schools, and nonprofits — across New Hampshire, the US, and Canada.

You work directly with me. Most agencies hand off projects to junior designers or account managers once the contract is signed. At Open Tree Creative, the person you strategize with is the same person writing your copy and building your site.

No. Most projects stall because the business owner is overwhelmed by the homework of writing content. I handle the copywriting, interviewing you to capture your voice while making sure the text is structured to convert visitors and rank on Google.

Technical SEO is built into every project from day one. This includes keyword research, page structure, meta tags, schema, and Google Search Console setup. You start with a solid foundation ready to rank, with no surprise add-on fees.

Because I work with one client at a time, the process is efficient. Most projects move from the initial strategy session to launch-ready in 4 to 8 weeks, depending on complexity and how quickly feedback comes back. Larger or more complex projects, like nonprofit sites with multiple audiences, can run longer — that timeline is always set during the proposal stage.

I build on Squarespace because it offers the best balance of high-end design flexibility and easy management. Once your site is handed off, you won't need a developer just to change a photo or update a paragraph.

Yes. You own the domain, the hosting account, and all of the content. You're never locked into a proprietary system or a long-term contract just to keep your site live.

Every project includes a window of post-launch support for tweaks and questions. After that, I offer ongoing monthly support plans if you'd rather have me handle updates than manage the site yourself.
