Hey. I'm Rachel. I help small business owners and organizations leave behind the site that no longer represents them, and build something they're actually proud to send people to.
By combining deep technical performance with a refined aesthetic, I build sites that look good, earn trust, and drive inquiries.
I’ve been doing this since I was 13.
Back in the dial-up days, I was running a joke website, viewing source on other people's sites trying to figure out how they worked. That curiosity never went away.
Over the years I found a way to bring web design into whatever I was doing. I taught ballet and designed the studio's website. I worked as an admin assistant and redesigned the company's site. Wherever I was, I ended up being the person who handled the website.
I started Open Tree Creative in 2010. Since then I've worked with landscapers, builders, remodelers, churches, nonprofits, photographers, and public speakers. I've done both web design and graphic design along the way.
I really enjoy partnering with businesses who are doing genuinely great work, but whose websites don't show it. I really love delivering websites that my clients are super excited about and proud to share. Not only that, but I want each website to continue to perform well well after launch day.

This work matters to me beyond the paycheck. I hold myself to a real standard, and that shows up in the details most people would let slide. I also take on a limited number of projects at a time, so every client gets my full attention.
Most designers don't write your copy.
A lot of web designers build a genuinely good site and leave the words to you. But on-page SEO depends on the words on the page, and schema needs real content behind it too. I write the copy because the design and the SEO can't work without it.

I'm born-and-raised in New Hampshire with five kids, a love for Jesus, and a stack of books I'm always working through.
Faith shapes how I approach my work. I work with honesty, care, and a real investment in the people I serve.
