Nonprofit web design — Concord, NHNew Hampshire nonprofit web design that speaks to donors and the people you serve.
Custom Squarespace web design and strategy for mission-driven nonprofit organizations in Concord, Manchester, Nashua, Portsmouth, and across New England. I build nonprofit websites that speak to donors and the people you serve—so your mission is clear, your credibility is obvious, and giving feels like the natural next step.
Strategic Web Design for NH Nonprofits with Dual Audiences
A donor lands on your homepage and needs to see your credibility in about ten seconds. Someone you serve lands on the same page and needs to find help fast, sometimes in a hard moment. I build the site to hold both.
Donors
Clear credibility signals, a straightforward giving path, and messaging that builds the trust someone needs before they feel good about donating.
The People You Serve
Fast, obvious navigation to the help they need, with a tone that doesn't add friction for someone who may already be having a hard day.
One package, five parts working toward your mission.
Each piece below is real, distinct work, but none of it happens in isolation. The strategy session shapes the copy, the copy shapes the SEO and AEO, and that shapes how donors, volunteers, and the community you serve find and understand your site.
Brand Alignment
Your color palette, typography, and visual direction come from what's already true to your organization and its mission.
Website Design & Architecture
Every page is mapped for how donors, volunteers, and supporters move through your site, with responsive design and subtle animation built in from day one.
Persuasive Copywriting
Your organization's voice is captured through conversation, then shaped into copy that's ready to publish and built to move people to give, volunteer, or get involved.
SEO & AEO Foundation
Keyword mapping, heading hierarchy, structured schema markup, and speed optimization are built into your site architecture from day one, so people searching for your cause, and the AI tools helping them, can find and understand your work.
Launch & Ongoing Support
Before launch, a full technical check covers domains, analytics, and search console. After launch, 30 days of support are included, with monthly website support plans available.

Book Your Free Discovery Call →A 7-Step Nonprofit Website Design Process
A straightforward path from first conversation to a finished nonprofit website. You'll always know where things are, what's next, and what's needed from you and your board.
Discovery
A free 30-minute conversation to understand your nonprofit's mission, your donors, the people you serve, and what's not working with your current website. I come back with a clear picture of what you need: a recommended page structure, a project scope, and an estimate.
Strategy
During the 90-minute strategy session, I ask detailed questions about your programs, your donors, how you talk about your mission, and what makes your nonprofit different. This session sets the direction for your sitemap, branding, design, and content, so every piece that follows is anchored to the same strategy.
Branding
Using the direction set in strategy, I build out your brand board, colors, typography, and visual direction rooted in your mission. You and your board review it and sign off before design begins.
Design
With your brand in place, I build your nonprofit's site in Squarespace, beginning with the home page so you can give feedback before I build out the rest.
Content
With the design in front of you, I write your site's copy — grounded in the strategy session, shaped to fit the pages that are already built, and written to speak to donors and the people you serve. You review and approve it before launch prep begins.
Launch
Before your site goes live, I run through technical checks: page speed, mobile responsiveness, redirects, and SEO and analytics connections. Once everything passes, your nonprofit website launches, ready to be found by donors and the people searching for help.
Support
Post-launch, you get 30 days of support and a personalized toolkit page — a self-paced course on updating your Squarespace site, relevant links, brand assets, and sometimes a short video walkthrough built around your site. If you'd rather not manage things yourself, a monthly support plan keeps it current — content updates, photo swaps, and SEO monitoring — so your board doesn't have to worry about upkeep.
The Living Room
A prayer ministry with no digital presence now shows up when someone in a hard moment searches for help, and when a donor is deciding whether to trust them. This custom Squarespace website gave The Living Room its first real online presence: original photography, mission-driven copywriting, and a local SEO foundation built to be found by both.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! My experience working with Rachel from Open Tree Creative was simply outstanding. Rachel is professional, genuine, insightful and extremely creative. She is highly knowledgable about website design, extremely organized and holds to what she tells you she will do. She listens, she is patient, and everything she does is with excellence. I'm deeply grateful, and I know that if you work with her, you will be too.
I deal with very hard subject matter, and the soft colors and gentle lines Rachel put together help mitigate the harshness of the topics. I just got a compliment from a new visitor this week who told me it's beautiful.
Rachel at Open Tree Creative has been our website designer here at Nashua Christian Academy. We have found her to be creative and intuitive in getting to know our organization and representing us faithfully on the web. She is extraordinarily responsive in providing requested updates or changes to our web site. Most notably, we regularly receive business (and compliments in that context) based on our site. I would heartily recommend her for businesses wanting to be noticed and seeking to better reach their online target audience.
Rachel is very professional. I employed her services when I was President of a non-profit organization. The website she developed for the non-profit is professional and of the highest caliber. She was quick to respond when I had a question or when I wanted to discuss a new project. She is professional, friendly, and industrious. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND her services!
Open Tree Creative/Rachel did our nonprofit organization's Internet presence (social media, Internet, email, graphic design), and she excelled at all of them! She is hard working, reliable, and has a good eye for design.
Without hesitation, I recommend her for any Internet presence/marketing/graphic design work you may have.
Questions, answered.
The things most leaders ask before starting a project. If yours isn't here, ask me directly.
Nonprofit websites with Open Tree Creative typically start at $5,000. The exact price depends on scope, and scope varies a lot by organization — some only need a handful of pages, while others need separate sections for programs, events, volunteering, donations, staff, and resources.
Projects move above the starting rate when they include things like a large number of pages, extensive copywriting, content migration from an existing website, custom functionality, multiple languages, or complex integrations with donation, event, or CRM platforms. Rather than fitting every project into the same package, I recommend the pages and features that best support your goals, and you'll receive a detailed proposal outlining exactly what's included before any work begins.
Open Tree Creative primarily works with Christian ministries, churches, schools, and mission-driven nonprofit organizations.
Whether your goal is increasing donations, recruiting volunteers, sharing resources, or communicating your impact, I build websites that make it easy for people to understand who you are and take the next step.
Yes.
Whenever possible, Open Tree Creative integrates your existing donation platform into the new site rather than asking you to switch systems. Whether your donations are processed through Donorbox, Givebutter, Bloomerang, Tithe.ly, Classy, Stripe, PayPal, or another platform, we'll create a donation experience that feels like a natural part of your website.
Many nonprofit projects involve executive directors, staff, marketing teams, and board members.
We'll establish review points early in the project so everyone knows when feedback is needed. That keeps approvals organized and helps prevent conflicting revisions or last-minute surprises.
Absolutely.
Open Tree Creative builds every website on Squarespace so your team can easily update text, images, blog posts, events, and other content—no coding required. You'll also receive training after launch so you feel confident making routine updates on your own.
If you'd rather spend your time focused on your mission, I also offer ongoing Website Support plans, whether you need occasional updates or long-term, ongoing help managing your site.
At Open Tree Creative, you'll work directly with me throughout the project.
I'm your strategist, designer, copywriter, and developer, so you always know exactly who you're talking to, from your first call to launch.

While Open Tree Creative is based in Concord, New Hampshire, I serve mission-driven organizations, small businesses, and schools across New England and nationwide.

Every website includes foundational SEO, including page titles, meta descriptions, heading structure, image optimization, and Google Search Console setup. The goal is to give your site a strong technical foundation so people can find your organization through search.
Most nonprofit websites with Open Tree Creative take about 4 to 8 weeks from kickoff to launch.
If your organization has board approvals, committee reviews, or volunteer schedules that affect timing, we'll build those into the project timeline from the beginning.
Open Tree Creative builds exclusively on Squarespace.
Squarespace offers an excellent balance of professional design, reliability, security, and ease of use. After launch, your staff can update pages, publish news, post events, and make routine edits without needing a developer.

Your organization owns the website, domain name, content, and graphics. You'll have full access to your Squarespace account, and you're never locked into a long-term contract to keep your site online.
Every project includes 30 days of post-launch support to answer questions and fix any issues that come up.
You'll also receive training so your team knows how to update the site confidently. If you'd rather not manage it yourself, ongoing maintenance plans are available.
Yes. If you already have a website, Open Tree Creative will migrate the content that's part of the agreed scope and make sure important pages and links are preserved whenever possible.
Absolutely. If you already have an established brand, Open Tree Creative will build a website that stays consistent with your existing identity. If your branding needs refinement, I can help with that too.
